Q & A
How many people will attend this retreat?
We have space for around 20 participants.
What time does the retreat start and end?
We’ll have the opening ceremony at 5pm on Saturday, May 23rd, 2020 and the closing ceremony on the morning of Saturday, May 30thth, 2020. If possible, plan to arrive by the morning of the 23rd and depart after lunchtime on the 30th. If those times aren’t available, just come and leave as close to those times as you can.
Who can attend?
Current Transcendental and Vedic Meditators of all levels and anyone who is interested in taking the Vedic Meditation training and becoming a self-sufficient, daily meditator. If you've taken the live VM or TM course prior to the retreat with any qualified teacher, you will receive an additional $300 credit on your retreat balance.
What if I want to meditate, but my friend/spouse does not want to?
This is a Vedic meditation retreat, so while there will be free time to enjoy the location, everyone must participate in the training (if they haven’t already). It’s only two hours of course time per day and everything else is optional. Usually, the people who think they won’t enjoy the meditation training end up loving it the most, because it’s not airy-fairy or woo woo at all. In fact, it’s the exact opposite. It’s very scientific, logical, and sequential.
Can I arrive a day or two early?
Yes. Email charaf@sunnysideup.travel to help you make arrangements.
How do you assign the rooms?
All of the rooms will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis based on when you make your deposit. Please understand we will do our very best to meet all of your needs, but there are no refunds or discounts if you do not like your assigned room.
What airport do I fly into?
We recommend flying into and out of Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), which includes a free airport transfer.
Are transfers included?
Yes, the transfers are included from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).
What can I expect the daily program to look like?
Each participant will engage in their own individually-tailored program and receive instruction in Vedic meditation and the experienced meditators will learn the art of Rounding (which is an advanced meditation technique). Guests can take the retreat at their own pace. However, a day will look something like this:
Morning yoga
